Things to do

Many things may have changed since those early days of Cape Coral, but you will still find the same basic quality of life that the early residents found in the Yacht Club neighborhoods. The Cape Coral "Yacht Club" still stands in the riverfront park that was established in the early ‘60s as a place for the early residents to socialize and play. Over the years there have been many improvements to the park area which include a beach, a recently refurbished 620' fishing pier, picnic areas, tennis and racquetball courts, Olympic size pool, and marina and boat ramp. Hungary? There is a small eatery with a large deck area to sit and have a snack or beverage while relaxing, enjoying the sun and watching the river front life. There is something there for everyone, and, in addition to the other amenities, the Rotino Senior Center is also located on the grounds offering a variety of activities to the Senior Citizen's of the city.

The Yacht Club is host to the Sunset Celebration the first Wednesday of every month. At this event you will find arts and crafts vendors, music and folks enjoying the weather and the scenery.

Living in this area gives you easy access to the many downtown Cape Coral events such as the 4th of July Celebration, the Christmas Boat Parade and Christmas tree lighting, and the Art and Crafts show in January, just to mention a few. Shopping, banks, the post office and restaurants are only around the corner which makes it an easy walk, bike ride or drive to get to.

Life is good in this corner of Cape Coral!
