A Place That Could Only Happen Once
Resting serenely under the warm Florida sun in Ft. Myers, near Interstate Highway 75 and Southwest Florida International Airport, is Fiddlesticks Country Club, “a place that could happen only once.” Since its beginning in 1983, Fiddlesticks has been blessed with one of Florida’s finest and most recognized golf courses, “The Long Mean.” Designed by renowned course architect Ron Garl, The Long Mean has stood the test of time and has players longing to return and challenge its 7077 yards.
Bob Cupp recently redesigned the “Wee Friendly,” the second course at Fiddlesticks, and it too is a challenging golf venue. These two courses, coupled with magnificent practice areas, make Fiddlesticks the premier golf club in Ft. Myers.
There are many communities in Florida that offer golf, but Fiddlesticks is a golf community, with members deeply dedicated to the game of golf and the camaraderie it fosters. Paramount to the success of any golf community is the availability of playing opportunities; with less than 600 members, two 18-hole courses and Master PGA Professional Jim Kurtzborn overseeing golf operations, Fiddlesticks ensures its members the opportunity to play whenever they want.
Distinctive to Fiddlesticks Country Club are the “groups,” an alliance of players held together by the game in a unique bond of friendship and competitive spirit. The Fiddlesticks Ladies Golf Association is extremely active, providing many opportunities for the women of the club to show off their prowess on the course. It is considered the premier ladies golf association in the area.
Other family activities have not been neglected at Fiddlesticks Country Club. The club features offers eight Har Tru tennis courts and a competitive tennis program spearheaded by Tennis Professional Jeff Diggs and his assistant pro. These two talented USTA-registered individuals are capable of teaching the beginner or keeping the game of a skilled player in shape. Fitness has not been overlooked either, as the club provides a professionally equipped fitness center which is open every day.
The 40,000 square foot clubhouse caters to the dining and social needs of the members by providing breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week in season, prepared and served by a professional staff that is looked upon as part of the family.
Many communities have been built since the first member teed it up at Fiddlesticks, but few have enjoyed the reputation of Fiddlesticks Country Club.
